Korea Adventure

I've been delaying this post for quite some time, primarily because I have no idea where to start writing about. I would say that the trip was definitely an eye opener for me. Out of all the overseas trip which I have went to, this one, oddly, withheld the most significance to me. 

The destinations I visited were not the best. In fact, they were disappointing to say the least. Most of the destinations followed this sequence of action: get off the bus -> 15/30 minutes of walking around and taking photos -> get on the bus -> next destination. Frankly, I hoped for more transition of information for the historical sites and more interaction between the tourists within out tour group. However, I did managed to forge precious friendships with *some* people (i'm going to protect their identities so shall not mention their names). Let's just name them Pooh (girl), Percy (guy) and Toy (guy).

To be honest, it was indeed unexpected, seeing that our age gap was pretty huge. The bonds were not as strong, not until my last night in Korea. Being a young adult, I had too much energy stored up within me (considering the lack of exhausting activities throughout the trip's agenda). Casually, I invited Pooh along for a late night supper/walk around the neighborhood. I can take care of myself perfectly fine even if I was alone outside, but the lack of socialization with people around my age was killing me. Simultaneously, I invited Percy along too, considering that it was going to be our last night together. I figured since it was my last chance to get to know them better, I might as well utilize this time wisely.

The night was young. We went to have mediocre patbingsu in a cafe and have some casual talk. Later on, the conversation progressed towards the topic of songs and musical talents. Percy possessed genuine talent in playing the guitar. We sang and played the guitar, eating bulgogi and drinking soju at the roadside stalls. Toy joined in later for more socializing. The night gradually progressed towards us playing more matured games which were quite fun. These times were the times where they shamelessly shed their mask of professionalism which they wore throughout the entire trip. I sensed a more human side of them as they settled comfortably among the shots of alcohol and exchange of laughter. Our age gap was not a hindrance for us at all. Life experiences, bitter stories and interesting tales were shared among us. I gained so much insight just from our conversations. It hurt me as I had to leave the next day.

We bonded for such a long time, into the wee hours of the night. None of us wanted to return to the hotel to rest. Our level of adrenaline was so high that night. I was the first to leave as Pooh wanted me to get some rest (reason: I'm still young lol). Percy pulled me to one side and started doing his usual gestures (I can't speak Korean; he can't speak my languages LOL). He was trying to say that he felt soreness in his heart because I had to leave later in the evening. He wanted me to stay longer that night to socialize more. My heart twisted and stung when I saw his expression. I wanted to stay with them so badly, but I had to take care of my sister that night who stayed in the same room as me. I told them I would see them in the morning and left to clean myself up before going to bed.

Until now, I was still pondering whether I should have stayed with them that night. It was a magical night, I was introduced to the interesting lifestyle in Korea and also forged new friendship. Throughout the entire trip, I started to pick up Korean in my free time as well. 

All in all, if I have the chance in the future, I will definitely travel to Korea once again. There is still too much to see and too much to EAT. 

Alright, I needed to write this down somehow. End of vent. I miss Korea. I miss my friends.
